Workflow

Choose a mode and drop in your files.

HESI's main window in light mode: archive settings at the top, a large drop area, and Choose files and Choose folder buttons.

Three steps

  1. Select Exact bytes for an identical file, or Content optimized for the smallest archive. Maximum compression trades speed for size.
  2. Drop in files or entire folders.
  3. HESI reports success only after verification. To restore, drop the .hesa archive back into the window.

Safe defaults

  • Existing files are never overwritten.
  • Folder archives preserve every path, including empty directories.
  • No network connection is required.
  • Light, dark and custom color themes are available.
Benchmark

Same codec as xz, half the size.

xz treats a file as a byte stream. HESI first models the relationships between columns, then compresses what remains.
